Microsoft FrontPage

For the non-HTML programmer, Microsoft FrontPage offers the perfect balance of power vs. ease of use.  An excellent web publication tool which we highly recommend.

Update, April 2006:  Microsoft has just announced that FrontPage  is being fazed out and replaced by a new family of products:

What does this mean for you?  If you're currently using FrontPage, there's no need to worry about it.  You can continue using FrontPage and can upgrade to the 'new suite' when you find reason to do so.

If you're exploring launching a web site, you should think about your needs.  If you want to get a web site up and running quickly, FrontPage remains an excellent method.  Just remember -- when you purchase the FrontPage software (which, it seems, will be available throughout 2006) -- you'll be buying a product that's being replaced by upgraded products.

Microsoft is stating that the new products will be based on 'FrontPage technology,' meaning anything you do in FrontPage should be compatible with the new software, should you choose to upgrade in the future.

Round the Bend Wizards

Building a web site is one thing, but developing the design is something completely different.  It takes a strong combination of artistic skills and technical expertise. 

Our favorite designer of FrontPage templates is Karey Cummins of Round the Bend Wizards (also My Arts Desire).  Cummins produces the most professional and creative template packages we've found.

Form Data Collection via FormMail by Tectite

Form data collection done securely can be a difficult proposition. This is especially true when you consider the wide variety of web servers out there -- each with its own idiosyncrasies.

FormMail, by Tectite is an excellent script for secure data collection.  We're very grateful to Russell Robinson of Tectite both for his program and for his technical expertise.
